Heureka

The Czech and Slovak price comparison site

Heureka is a price and product comparison site operating in Czechia and Slovakia. Shoppers search for a specific item and see offers from multiple e-shops side by side. A shop connects to it through a product XML feed and pays per click for each visitor it receives.

How a shop gets listed

The foundation is a product feed — an XML file in which the shop exposes its catalogue in the structure the comparison site expects. Each item carries a name, price, availability, category, EAN, and further parameters. Heureka pulls the feed regularly, so a price or stock change propagates without manual work.

Feed quality matters more than budget. If a product carries the right EAN and parameters, the comparison site matches it to an existing product card and the offer appears in the list of sellers for that item. If matching fails, the listing ends up outside the main results and misses most of the traffic.

Pay per click and Verified by Customers

Heureka runs on a pay-per-click model, much like CPC in advertising systems: the shop pays not for an impression but for a visitor who clicks through. The click price varies by category and the shop can adjust it within the rules, which in turn influences where its offer ranks.

The second layer is the Verified by Customers programme. After a purchase the customer receives a survey, and their rating feeds into the shop's public score. The badge is often displayed in the shop itself, because for an unfamiliar brand it tends to be the decisive trust signal. Ratings cannot be bought or deleted, so the score is long-term work on delivery and support.

What to watch out for

A comparison site by design places offers side by side on price, so a shop without the lowest price competes there on availability, shipping, and rating instead. Without watching margin it is easy to buy revenue on Heureka that earns nothing.

Comparison traffic is also rented rather than owned. That makes it worth pairing with your own channels, namely organic traffic and email. Feed integration, category mapping, and pricing rules are a standard part of a custom e-shop.

Frequently asked questions

Is Heureka the same as Zboží.cz?

No. Both are comparison sites, but they have different operators, rules, and feeds. Heureka works in both Czechia and Slovakia, while Zboží.cz belongs to Seznam and targets the Czech market. Most Czech e-shops use both at once.

Do I need a separate XML feed for Heureka?

Yes, Heureka has its own feed specification and a feed built for a different system will not do. A well-built shop generates several feeds from the same data, though, so this is a configuration task rather than duplicated catalogue management.

How do I earn the Verified by Customers badge?

By joining the programme and sending post-purchase surveys. The rating then comes from real customer answers. The score cannot be edited from outside, so the only way to improve it is fast delivery, accurate availability information, and handling complaints well.
