Packeta
Central European pickup point network
Packeta is a delivery service built on a dense network of pickup points and lockers. The customer collects the parcel at a branch instead of waiting at home. An e-shop connects to it through an API or a module and hands orders over to the carrier's system.
Two names, one company
This is a single company operating under two names. In Czechia the brand kept its original name, Zásilkovna, because customers know it and the whole history of the service is attached to it. On other markets, Slovakia included, a 2021 rebrand moved it to the internationally usable name Packeta.
In practice a Slovak customer searches for Packeta and a Czech one for Zásilkovna, while it is the same network. For a shop selling into both countries this shows up in the shipping selector — the carrier name should match the customer's country, not the merchant's registered office.
How it integrates with a shop
Integration has two halves. The first is choosing a pickup point inside the cart, usually through a map widget, so the customer picks a branch before submitting the order. The second is handing the parcel to the carrier's system: creating the label, the tracking number, and optionally cash on delivery.
When the second half is done by hand, the shop retypes every address into someone else's interface. At dozens of orders a day that is an hour of work that an API integration removes — dispatch then happens straight from the shop's own administration.
- A branch picker widget in the cart, not a dropdown list.
- Label and tracking number created automatically after payment.
- Tracking number pushed into the customer email without manual copying.
- Shipment status written back onto the order so support does not look elsewhere.
What it means for conversion
For most parcels a pickup point is cheaper than home delivery, and customers read it as flexible because they need not be at home. A missing pickup option in the cart therefore shows up in the abandoned cart rate just as reliably as expensive shipping does.
One carrier is still not enough. Bulky or high-value goods belong at an address, ordinary parcels in the pickup network. Connecting several carriers and setting the rules for which appears when is a standard part of a custom e-shop.

Are Packeta and Zásilkovna the same thing?
Yes, the same company and the same network. In Czechia it trades as Zásilkovna, in Slovakia and other markets as Packeta. The difference is branding, not service.
Do I need a developer to integrate it?
On off-the-shelf platforms a module usually suffices. On a custom shop the integration goes through the carrier's API — one-off work that then removes manual retyping on every order.
Can I send cash on delivery to a pickup point?
Yes, that is common. Bear in mind, though, that the money returns to the merchant with a delay, and cash-on-delivery orders go uncollected more often than prepaid ones.
