3v3 volleyball tournament: we are picking a new date
Saturday 22 August is off. The captains of the registered teams decide the replacement — the poll is open, and we play on whichever day suits the most teams.
The date is moving
Saturday 22 August did not work out, so we are not forcing it. Rather than picking a new date from a desk and then finding out who it does not suit, we are asking first: in a calendar running from 19 August to 31 October you mark the days that work for your team, and we play on the one with the most teams behind it.
The captain fills it in, one vote per team — same as the registration. If your plans change, submit the poll again from the same address; the new vote replaces the earlier one.
Sixteen teams, one day
There is nowhere to hide a weaker player in 3v3 volleyball. Three people cover the whole court, every second ball is yours, and two rallies in it is obvious who covers the middle and who is pretending that one was out.
That is exactly what we are going to play — as soon as it is clear when. There is room for sixteen teams, and once they are taken, registration closes. Registration runs independently of the poll: signing up holds your place, voting says when you can use it.
The line-up
A team is three players plus an optional substitute. That fourth person matters more than it looks on paper — an afternoon and several matches back to back can surprise even the people who go to the gym.
Alongside the matches there is music, a barbecue and refreshments, and a raffle and prizes for the winners at the end.
What we do not know yet
Besides the date, the venue, the exact start time and the entry fee are still open. All three get settled once the date is known, and go out by e-mail straight to the captains of registered teams.
That is why this registration is preliminary: signing up holds your slot, it does not commit you to a payment. We will announce its terms along with the rest of the details.

Besides the team name and the players, we ask about dietary restrictions and allergies. We need those ahead of the barbecue, not on the day. There will be photography and video at the event, and the form asks for your consent to that.
